INTRODUCTION TO DIGITAL MEDIA PRODUCTION 1 - VIDEO

Introductory half day 5 hour workshop
DATES: To be confirmed; Early to mid April & May (two per month, every two weeks)
Location: Blackheath Area Neighbourhood Centre (other locations may also be available)
Cost: $150 payable in advance (No other fees required)
Workshop subject to enrolment. Minimum 6, maximum 10 participants
Workshop description: This 4 hour workshop followed by 1 hour of personal tuition is designed to give you the skills to edit, process and produce video for both broadcast quality presentation and streaming social media, such as a personal website / facebook and/or YouTube channel. Typical outcomes would be to edit and produce creative, artistic, personal, travel and/or family style videos for either of the above. The workshop focuses on skills acquisition with a detailed and hands on introduction to the professional video editing software Adobe Premiere. Participants are encouraged to work creatively with layers of images, sounds, music, dialogue, storyline, performance and pacing and to "re-imagine" and craft their own source video into a cohesive whole.
During the four hour workshop you will learn how to:
Create a Video Project in Adobe Premiere Pro CC Version 9.2.0;
Import your media; Produce a rough cut using In & Out edit points;
Apply Tints to video files; Apply Fades to video files;
Insert and apply Filters to graphics; Insert and apply Text and Titles;
Add a soundtrack to your video; Export media to QuickTime & MPEG-4.
On completion of this introductory workshop further Intermediate to Advanced, 3 session Workshops are available.
Step by step course notes will be provided to all participants.
The workshop schedule will provide for one-on-one learning with your instructor.
About your Instructor: Damian Castaldi has an academic background in postgraduate education and has taught and/or supervised Audio & Video Production Workshops at the University of Technology Sydney, the University of Newcastle and Sydney College of the Arts. He is an accredited teacher with the Board of Studies Teaching and Educational Standards NSW (BOSTES) and has a valid WWC (Working With Children) number for paid and unpaid work, Expiry - 16/02/2021.
IMPORTANT PLEASE NOTE
You must provide your own laptop computer and workshop software to participate in this workshop.
The workshop software is Adobe Premiere Pro CC Version 9.2.0 and is available as a FREE ONE MONTH TRIAL download and installation from: https://www.adobe.com/au/downloads.html
PARTICIPANTS must also provide their own source video content from a personal phone, camera or computer.
